I have an issue with this product. For months I have been going through terrible bought of Low Sodium, severe anxiety both inside and out. If you do not know what anxiety is inside, imagine all your organs shaking and the brain in your head. These ar your electrolytes being imbalanced. Sodium is an electrolyte. I became so forgetful and totally confused. I never knew what day it was or even if it was a weekday or weekend. Then I started documenting because this had gone on for 7 months. Frome watching crime shows it was just like I was being poisoned. I knew my husband would not do this so that left me to know it was something I was ingesting. I began to think of what drug or supplement I began taking that coincided with the horrific attacks that would last for days on end. They were so bad I did not want to live anymore, thinking I had a mental disorder I was going to have to suffer the rest of my life with. Suicide came to my mind a lot. I even went out and bought 100 OTC sleeping pills in case it got so bad I could not take it.But one day as I said I began to wonder what coincided with these attacks. The only thing that came to my mind was Equate Fiber Therapy. I had switched to it from Citrucel. Then as II thought, all my attacks began with this. I got the bottle out and looked at the Inactive Ingredients. The words Polyethylene glycol popped out at me for some reason. I looked it up on WebMD and to my surprise, this substance is a drug. It is an Osmotic Laxative, which means it draws water from the body into the intestines. I was taking it 2-3 tabs 2 times a day! Plus I then looked at the stool softener I was using and it too had Polyethylene glycol in it. So I was getting it from 2 places. Also, most of the symptoms I was going through are side effects of Polyethylene glycol. The directions say to take 2 caplets 1-4 times a day, so I was not over doing it.I personally think it is wrong to label a laxative as an Inactive Ingredient. The Active Ingredient is Calcium Polycarbophil 625 mg. For its purpose, it states it is a bulk forming laxative. All I wanted was fiber and that is what the name of the product says. It says bulk forming laxative on the label so I guess I did not read close enough. I would not have bought it had I known. I do not think another laxative such as Polyethylene glycol should be in the Inactive ingredients. It belongs in the Active.Maybe it's just my system but I would not recommend it, especially for long term use. Oh yes, since I have stopped using this over a month ago I have had no more attacks or symptoms or side effects, and I would have them 2-3 times a month, and not just for one day.
